Registering for the Course

How do you register for the NYLT course?

Register for the OCC-NYLT course using the course registration form, which is published in the Camp Squanto leader's guide in March each year. The earlier you register for the course, the better chance you have of getting into this size-limited course.

Note that the application process for the Camp Squanto leading scout or venturer program parallels the process for NYLT application. That's because the NYLT course is required for first year leading scout or venturers.

Course Registration Steps

Follow these steps:

1. Get a copy of the NYLT course application from your scout or venturermaster, or download a copy now.
2. Complete the NYLT course application; remember to print neatly (or complete it online using Adobe Acrobat Reader).
3. Get your scout or venturermaster's and parent's approval signatures on the form.
4. Submit your NYLT course application well in advance of the course sign-up deadline.

If you intend on applying to the leading scout or venturer program, submit your completed, signed leading scout or venturer application with your NYLT course application. The leading scout or venturer program application is available from the Camp Squanto website. Note that leading scout or venturer interviews are completed in early March, so get your application in as soon as possible!
